Mission & Activities

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you (Matthew 7:7)

With these words, Christ invites us upon a journey of discovery and a pilgrimage to the holy City of God.  On the way you will meet with holy men and women, who will share their age-old wisdom with you and guide you on your path.  You will take up the Grail Knights’ struggle against and battle the spiritual forces of darkness.  You will come to know God and find deep meaning and purpose for your life.  You will witness the miraculous signs and wonders of God and help others upon their journey through life.

The Knights of the Holy Grail is for men and women of action and of mighty deeds.  We encourage the personal initiative of our Knights and Ladies!  Our mission of the Quest of the Holy Grail embraces many activities, including:

Local Chapter Houses

Founding local Chapter Houses for prayer, study, good works and fellowship.

Every province should have a "house of recollection," or hermitage, where knights may retire to practice contemplation, pursue their spiritual formation, and observe the ceremonies and traditions of our Order.

Chapter Houses may be equipped with a library for study and research, a chapel for prayer and celebration of the holy mysteries, a Great Hall or refectory for meals and fellowship, and rooms for sojourning knights.

Prayer

Prayer is the foundation of our life and spiritual formation.  This includes the saying of morning and evening prayers, intercessory prayer, praying for one another and the Church, prayers of healing, deliverance and spiritual warfare.

Prayer may be both simple and spontaneous as well as taking other forms including the saying of daily offices such as Vespers, nighttime prayer, novenas and praying the rosary.

The ancient ceremonies and observances of our brotherhood are based upon old Church Calendars of holy days and feasts.  They include the observance of daily Vespers, special remembrances, festal celebrations, holy solemnities, prayers for the dead, prayers of healing, rituals of spiritual combat, and the holy Mass.

Spiritual Warfare

We believe that we are living in a time of great spiritual peril and satanic power in the world.  We call upon you to join us in these spirit wars by fighting demons through prayer and exercising of spiritual authority, invoking the aid of the saints and angels, using the sign of the cross and various sacramentals to defeat the evil one, and engaging in the unseen arena of noetic activity and the spiritual combat.

Learn how to use sacramentals like scapulars, holy water, blessed salt, medals such as the St. Benedict and Miraculous Medal, chaplets, the Agnus Dei, etc. The devil hates these old and pious devotions because they are powerful aids to prayer and protection from evil; they increase faith and destroy his power on earth.

Pilgrimage

"Who are these that fly as clouds? ... Whither the impulse of the Spirit as to go, there they went" (Isaiah 60:8, Ezekiel 1:12)

Pilgrimage, the lost art of spiritual traveling, whether near or far.  A life of spiritual adventure that leads us to sacred shrines, ancient churches and monasteries, places of miracles, divine messages, healings and holy apparitions, and words of wisdom and guidance from monks, nuns, hermits, and living saints.

Seeking the gifts of the Holy Ghost, the spiritual and supernatural workings of God; miracles, mysteries, and marvels; gifts of power, dreams, visions, signs and portents; healings of body, mind and soul; and deliverance from evil.

The Holy Grail

"Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at evening, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning" (Mark 13:35)

Nourishing one’s spiritual life with the Mass or the Divine Liturgy, the Holy Mysteries, prayer, frequent reception of the sacraments, study, and spiritual direction.

Reading of the Holy Bible and other spiritual texts, and meditation upon the Scriptures.

Guard and protect holy relics and sacred treasures entrusted to our Order.

The keeping and saying of ancient observances, old traditional prayers and beloved devotions, many of which are being forgotten and lost.

Good Works

Almsgiving and charity towards others, in the spirit of Christ, always in secret and according to the teaching of Matthew 6:1-4.

The Knights of the Holy Grail is dedicated to helping the weak against the strong and to doing good deeds.  It is our duty to help those whom God places upon our path as we journey through life.

Protection of the Faithful

A Knight of the Holy Grail shall at all times offer refuge and shelter from persecution to his brothers and sisters of like precious faith.  We believe that this persecution, foretold by Christ, is coming upon the people of God and that we are now in the Last Days.
